The road to renewable energies is slow and bumpy. Being intermittent and costly, these renewable sources are facing a tough competition with fossil fuel; which, unfortunately, is a limited resource that is being depleted at a fast rate. The main challenge that hinders the wide usage of renewable energies is lack of an efficient way to store them and be able to use them when needed. Please see the Project Portfolio for more details (attached at the bottom of the page).
Current Research:
I am currently working at Hawaii Natural Energy Institute as a Research Assistant. My PhD focus is on energy storage systems and application of nanomaterials in them. I investigate the performance of carbon nanotubes and other nanomaterials as electrodes in lithium ion batteries.
Previous Research:
Interests:
Heat Transfer, Water Desalination, Electronics Cooling, Solid Mechanics, Electrochemistry, Nanotechnology, Fluid Mechanics.
Bio-mimicry: I have always been fascinated with nature. I would love to focus on bio-inspired designs and concepts.

Previous Research:
- I studied the sooting behavior of diffusion flames in combustion devices, and determined conditions under which soot-free flames occur. This fundamental research was numerical and was funded by NASA. (MSc work)
- I participated in an experimental work studying the effect of exhaust gas recirculation, EGR, on the emissions of Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engines.
